Thanks for visiting us on the web. It has been a long time coming and we have finally launched the 2.0 version of KunTaoSilat.com. The site is still a work in progress, and will be for some time. However, we’ve developed to the point where the functionality of the site is an improvement on our previous web experience and want to share with you all.
If you were a user on our old forum, you only need to recover your password with the email or username that you were using to create a new one. The forum migration was one of the most complex tasks of this entire project, and albeit not perfect, we do have the majority of all the data from the old forum. If you find a post of yours that is assigned to me, or to someone incorrectly, please let us know so we can attempt to correct it.
Here are the main features of the new site:
- Secure Connections with SSL – This means all communications between our server and your computer now have 2048 bit encryption to protect from any man in the middle attacks.
- Forums and Social Feed – The forums now include a social component where you can update your status, and comment on others in addition to the forum space.
- Integrated Online Store – The KTS e-commerce experience is now integrated with the site. Once you’ve logged in, you can purchase, review, rate, and even share any of the KTS products. We’re working on integrating the subscription model with the store, but it is a work in progress.
- Article Repository – This is also commonly known as a blog. However, we’ve imported most of the articles that are out there into this one central location. There are still some growing pains from the import, but we’re working through formatting issues, slowly but slowly.
- Learning Area – For our practitioners, we’ve added/are currently adding an organized infrastructure to make it more clear on what videos to study and what the process looks like. This is still a work in progress as we’re working out some technical issues with video formats. However, we do have all the access controls in place. If you’re a part of the GCC and can’t see all the levels under the “Learn” link, then drop us a line so we can fix that.
- My Account – You now have a more complete dashboard for your KunTao Silat account. You can manage your addresses and should be able to see your past order history (testing required).
- Search – On every page of the site, there is now a search function at the top right via clicking a little icon that looks like a magnifying glass. If you know what you’re looking for but aren’t interested in clicking around, just type in what it is and it’ll bring up some options. There’s also a search box at the bottom of the page if you don’t want to scroll up. 😉
There are a lot of other small items with rather large impact, but we won’t bore you with the painful tech jargon that only nerdy masochists would enjoy.
